Holiday and Peak Period Planning
Q4 is the most demanding period in e-commerce fulfillment. Proper planning with YouParcel ahead of the holiday season ensures your customers receive orders on time and your operations run smoothly.
Key Dates to Plan Around
- October: Begin Q4 inventory replenishment. Warehouses start filling quickly in late October.
- Black Friday / Cyber Monday (late November): Highest order volume of the year for most DTC brands. Orders placed over the BFCM weekend are processed Monday through Wednesday the following week.
- December 15: Approximate last day to guarantee standard ground delivery by December 25 for most domestic addresses.
- December 20-22: Last days for expedited/overnight shipping for Christmas delivery.
- December 25 and January 1: YouParcel warehouses are closed. No orders are processed on these days.
What We Ask of You
- Share your Q4 volume forecast with your account manager by September 30.
- Ensure adequate inventory arrives at the warehouse by October 31 at the latest.
- Communicate any planned promotions (flash sales, BFCM deals) at least 2 weeks in advance so we can staff accordingly.
Carrier Cutoffs
Carriers publish their holiday shipping cutoff dates each year, typically in October. YouParcel will share these with clients as they are published. Note that cutoffs vary by service level and carrier.
