Kitting is the process of assembling multiple individual SKUs into a single sellable unit (a kit or bundle). YouParcel supports both pre-kitting (assembly before orders arrive) and on-demand kitting (assembly per order).
Pre-Kitting
Pre-kitting involves assembling kits in advance and storing the assembled units as a distinct SKU. This is ideal when you have consistent, high-volume bundles and want the fastest possible pick and pack time per order.
To request pre-kitting, provide:
- Parent/kit SKU code and name.
- Component SKUs and quantities per kit.
- Packaging instructions (box type, inserts, branding elements).
- Desired quantity to assemble in the first run.
On-Demand Kitting (Virtual Kits)
With virtual kits, the system picks the individual components for each order and packs them together at the time of shipment. No pre-assembled inventory is held. This is useful for limited-edition or variable bundles.
Kitting Fees
Kitting labor is billed per unit assembled. Your account manager will provide a kitting rate based on the complexity of the assembly. Complex kits (more than 5 components, custom inserts, or individual labeling requirements) are quoted separately.
Subscription Box Kitting
